Thanksgiving is quickly approaching, and we can’t stop thinking about the table. When we design a home, we think about the moments and memories that are created within it. Hosting can be an intimidating art form, but we’re here to help you become the Picasso of your home.
This year, Shelly and her wife, Candice, took a creative approach to their Thanksgiving table, proof that the holiday can be anything and anywhere you want it to be. Here’s how they brought their vision to life (and how you can, too).
Follow a Color Palette
Color sets the vibe. Shelly and Candice leaned into a rich autumnal mix of warm marigolds, maroons, plum, and a hint of green. It’s unexpected, it’s festive, and it skips the cliché pumpkin and gourd tablescape. A tight palette makes everything look intentional, and no one will ever guess it took under an hour to set!
Lean on Your Surroundings

Who says Thanksgiving can’t feel coastal? For this beachfront meal, they leaned into what was around them: fresh-cut hydrangeas from the garden and a collection of unique seashells. A magnolia leaf garland anchored the table, grounding those ocean touches with a warm, fall feel. Shop more of our decor pieces here.
Bake a Sweet Treat
No Thanksgiving is complete without a dessert (or two)! Candice’s olive oil cake with pumpkin chai cream is the perfect ending. Simple, elegant, and a little unexpected.
Use What You Have

Before buying new, take an inventory of what’s already in your home. That random vase, leftover ribbon, or the candlesticks collecting dust? Those are your new statement pieces, just look with a fresh eye. Here, we repurposed amber candle hurricanes as vases for the hydrangeas, a small twist that made a big impact.
This holiday season, set a table that feels like you. Layer in color, texture, and add details that make you smile. Whether you’re dining at the beach, in the city, or at your grandma’s, it’s all about creating a table worth lingering at long after dessert. Nostalgia is rooted in tradition. Make creating a gorgeous tablescape something you do with your family that brings joy for years to come.
Ready to host,
