Every so often, stepping away from our screens is the most productive thing we can do. A recent morning spent at the Guggenheim Museum was just the reset we needed. Moving through Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic spiral, we traded our inboxes for a stroll full of creativity and color.
Being surrounded by art (and architecture that is art in itself) shifts your perspective in a refreshing way. Below are all the things that inspired us on this field trip!
“I loved this beautiful mixed-media piece by Bruce Connor. The delicate beading and touches of mesh nylon complement each other beautifully. Overall, I had a lovely time at the Guggenheim and always love seeing the new artists on display. I also snapped a photo of this gorgeous landscape painting with beautiful colors. “I really loved the Bruce Connor mixed-media textile collage, especially how it weaves fashion elements directly into the artwork. There’s also something very feminine about it, from the cut-up stockings to the feather, the brooch, and the beaded fringe at the bottom. “It was really moving to see a Van Gogh piece in real life - this one being Mountains at Saint-Remy. No photograph can really capture the dimension, texture, and movement of his iconic post-impressionist swirls. Despite the industrial developments happening in Paris during the late 1800s, he chose to focus on more natural, rural settings in his work. I really love his depiction of the dainty, colorful florals in the foreground against a sea of bold and heavy brushstrokes.” - Natalie, Technical Interior Designer
“The gallery dedicated to Gabriele Münter was spectacular! The paintings all felt deeply personal, and I was drawn in by how colorful all her pieces were.
