Each year, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House offers an inside look at the future of interior design—and this year’s exhibit doesn’t disappoint. As a fundraising event for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, “the Show House serves a higher purpose – empowering young people with the resources, mentorship, and opportunities they need to reach their full potential.”
Set in a 9,000-square-foot, six-level Greenwich Village townhouse, the 2025 edition brings together some of the industry’s leading talents. This historic residence was transformed, with each designer reimagining a room with bold color, intricate detail, and boundary-pushing ideas. From redefined traditional spaces to thoroughly modern statements, the Show House offers endless inspiration.
This event is a highlight on our design calendar, so of course, we had to pay a visit. Take a look at everything we felt inspired by:
“I loved seeing all of the natural wallcoverings installed in the space! The grasscloth wallcovering in the Christopher Peacock kitchen and the cork wallcovering in the Huniford showroom were both a beautiful touch.” – Emma, Junior Interior Designer
“In the hallway by Ovadia Design Group, this was one of my favorite pieces for sure! At first glance, it looked like a light fixture, but it’s actually an art piece suspended from the ceiling and illuminated by standard recessed lights. I appreciate the dappled lighting effect it projects onto the walls and entire space; it creates a really nice ambience.” – Derek, Design Intern
“I loved the microartworks tucked throughout the space, small pieces that caught your eye and added depth without overwhelming. Another standout touch was the use of wallcovering to cover light switch plates, a subtle detail that made the installations feel polished and cohesive.” – Emily, Junior Interior Designer
“The entire home was so beautiful, and each room was entirely unique! I especially loved the pink powder room by Andrea Schumacher Interiors. The floral tile mosaic on the walls is such a special detail.” – Diana, Content + Marketing Coordinator
“One of my favorite spaces was the living room and kitchenette by Huniford Design Studio. The muted pastel palette, green kitchen, and return of glass blocks created a calm atmosphere with just the right amount of character. With the 2025 Kips Bay Decorator Show House coming to a close, we walked away with new ideas and about 1,000 new photos in our phones. Every designer brought something unexpected to the table, a real reminder of how powerful creativity can be. We’re grateful to be part of a community that not only pushes design forward but also supports the next generation through the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club. We’ll be back next year, and if you love design as much as we do, it’s absolutely worth the field trip.
