As much as we hate to say it, summer is coming to an end. The days are getting shorter, and we’re already reminiscing about our time elsewhere. Think sunny escapes, good food, and a few places we’d happily return to tomorrow.
From staycations to Eurosummers, here’s how we spent our time off.
Emma, Junior Interior Designer | Portugal
I went to Lagos, Portugal this July with two good friends and had the best time. We visited beautiful beaches and took a couple of boat rides. I would highly recommend Lagos to anyone for a quick summer vacation!

Rachel, Operations & Purchasing Manager | Seattle
We stayed here in Seattle all summer! We spent a lot of time on the waterfront enjoying the perfect weather.

Eliza, Interior Design Director | Alaska
I traveled to Alaska this summer on a cruise. The landscape and wildlife were nothing short of magical, and the ship interiors were thought-provoking. It was incredible to see how they created distinct spaces within the ship that were both beautiful and functional on a moving vessel!

Diana, Content & Marketing Coordinator | Portugal & Spain
My roommate and I spent a week in Lisbon & Barcelona. The ceramics in Lisbon are stunning - highly recommend By Nunes for colorful pieces and Ceramicas na Linha for more classic glazes. The city has a big brunch culture; my favorite spot was Marquise! The architecture in Barcelona was stunning. We walked through Parc Güell and admired Gaudí’s work! La Sagrada Familia was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. We unfortunately weren’t able to get tickets to go inside, but we spent just as long staring at the exterior.

Emily, Project Manager & Interior Designer | Long Island
This summer, I moved into a new apartment, which was super exciting and fun in itself, so unfortunately, I didn’t get to travel much. I did make it out to Long Island for a day trip to Del Vino Vineyard, which is always a fun time with great food and drinks. Afterward, we stopped by Copenhagen Bakery for coffee and some sweet treats for the ride home!

Therasa, Design Intern | Portugal & Spain
I had the opportunity to travel around Spain and Portugal, spending eight weeks in Santiago de Compostela studying Spanish language. I also spent a week walking along the Portuguese Coastal Way of the Camino de Santiago!

Natalie, Technical Interior Designer | Beacon
My partner and I took a weekend trip to Beacon in June for our anniversary! While it was a drizzly and cloudy few days, we had a lovely time exploring the Beacon-Newburgh area, sipping hot lattes (shoutout to Beacon Coffee Co. & Mercantile for one of the best lattes I’ve ever had), and catching a couple of World Cup games at local bars.

Jalene, Design Intern | Miami
I explored the streets of Miami! The city holds its love for art very close.

Diana, Content & Marketing Coordinator | New Jersey
I took a quick weekend trip down the shore to Bay Head, NJ. It’s a super cute little town with beautiful beaches. The coffee Oreo ice cream at Hoffman’s was amazing!

All good things must come to an end, and as much as we’ll miss the long days and (slightly unbearable) warm weather, we’re ready to see what fall has in store.
Where did you go this summer?
Saying goodbye to the season,
From the Corner Chaise
